Weekly Highlights | Weird Customers

This week was definitely filled with weird people for one thing and funny for another. Back on Monday, we had a bunch of high school kids come in at seven in the evening all order the same drink and snacks. That's not the weird bit. The weird bit was overhearing their conversations because they got way too loud and there was no reason for anyone to not hear what they were saying.

One kid, a boy with brown hair, was talking about how Bigfoot was a cryptid that was actually someone's pet gorilla that got released or escaped their owner's home. Ever since then, it had been spotted multiple times up and down the Provo Canyon in either the earliest hours of the morning or very late into the night.  He said that once with his older brother, they saw it. Bigfoot was pretty much trying to chase down their car because "we entered its territory." I thought that was hilarious, though a bit creepy.

Then a girl with rusty hair spoke up next and said that with the Salt Lake drying up, she said she and her girl friends saw a dead mermaid wash up and it was disgustingly mummified in the salt. They buried it and even had a mini-memorial service for it. When a blonde kid asked if they had any photos for proof, the girl replied that it was disrespectful to the mermaids because "who knows if fellow mermaids were near by and possibly kill us all!" I swear high school kids are getting so much weirder every generation, but it's entertaining.

The evening continued like this until we closed up shop and left the lot to head back to our parking lot of food trucks, but let me tell you: there's never a dull moment here at Smooth Tea Bubbles!
