Our adventure takes us to St. George today along main street and your local Walmart parking lot. Seeing our regulars are always fun because half of them always bring their dogs with them and we catch them during their walks. Sometimes they are simply driving by for groceries and decide that boba milk tea is just what they need. One particular regular is so funny as she always gets a large brown sugar milk tea with grass jelly and we give her rottweiler a treat too. Her dog's name is Andrew, named after her son who sadly passed away from a terminal illness years ago. Here at Smooth Tea, we've affectionately nicknamed Andrew as Drew-Pee. He always likes to do his business on the front passenger tire--ever...single...time.
Our special regular I will call Carol, even though that's not her real name. She is such a funny sweetheart with a good attitude, even if she says her day has been a tough one. But we always like having her here with Drew-Pee.
This past week, we only had one terrible customer and thank goodness he was not a regular. To begin with, we accidentally made him a small boba smoothie and we offered to remake it in a medium as we were training this new kid who's in high school. Ouch. That's always rough, but instead of accepting our apologies and offer to redo the drink in medium, this customer decided to dump his entire drink onto the pavement while yelling at us at how we should be doing our jobs.
In my mind, it bothers me when people tell us this. Yes, we admit our mistakes and own up to it, but please don't waste food and yell. Unfortunately, this kid ended up crying and quitting on the spot and the customer seemed weirdly happy with himself. Jerk. It always makes me look forwards to seeing our nice regulars who always cheers us up and makes our day better.
